The 18 year old native of Kristianstad, Sweden will take time off from the red hot Toronto Marlies, in an attempt to win a gold medal.
The 2017 First Round (17th pick) of the Toronto Maple Leafs has overcome an earlier season injury and continues to play well, most noticeably when paired with Travis Dermott.
Liljegren has 9 pts (1g, 8a) in the 17 games that he has played this season as an AHL rookie for the Baby Leafs.
Here is how Liljegren felt about being named to Team Sweden last night when asked by voice of the Marlies, Todd Crocker.
