After a summer of absolute nonsense, it is finally over.
Mitch Marner is once again a Toronto Maple Leafs player after signing a 6 year deal with a 10.893 AAV.
To be precise. Marners AAV is $10.893 x 6 years.

I had assumed it was going to be 10% less than that of Auston Matthews….and therefore 10.5 but the Marner camp dug in hard and got the extra dollars on the six year deal.
This finally puts contracts to bed for a while here in Leafs land.
Oh wait….there are more next year? Sigh.
How do you feel about this deal? It is going to be a hard one to live up to, but I really believe Marner is the kid that can do it.
Next Step: Naming a Captain.
