MARLIES NEWS – Coaching Staff Finalized

Marlies Finalize Coaching Staff

The Toronto Marlies have finalized their Coaching Staff for the start of the 2015-2016 AHL season.

It was announced today, by the team, that Gord Dineen would be returning the Marlies bench as an Associate Coach. Joining Sheldon Keefe’s crew will also be A.J. MacLean (there is a Die-Hard joke in there but I am better than that).

MacLean follows Keefe from the Soo Greyhounds where they compiled a 98-29-0-7 record together. The 31 year old native of Antigonish, Nova Scotia will bring his own Semi-Professional and CIS experience to the Marlies bench as well as an impressive assistant coaching record.

Dineen, the former Marlies Head Coach has been on the bench for the previous seven seasons and will bring experience and a stabilizing influence to a relatively young staff. His record of 40-27-0-9 was solid enough to get the Marlies into the AHL playoffs but Dineen was replaced by Sheldon Keefe at the end of the season.

Rounding out the Marlies staff will be Goaltending Coach Pier Greco and Video Coach Ryan Ward.
