Is this the last chance for Nazem?
On Sunday afternoon it was announced that the Toronto Maple Leafs and Nazem Kadri had agreed on a 1 year deal, worth 4.1 million dollars.
The 24 year old centre was the team’s fourth leading scorer in the 2014-15 season, during which saw Kadri suspended by the team for an undisclosed issue.
Kadri, who had 39 points in 73 games (18 goals and 21 assists), is looking to establish himself as bona fide 1C option for the Blue and White moving forward. This contract gives both play and team options moving forward in the relationship. Kadri’s ability has never been question but his work ethic (going back to Junior in London) has always been suspect and potentially holding him back from furthering his career. Another year of maturity and the guidance of Mike Babcock in the 2015-16 season maybe the last opportunity here in Toronto for Nazem, and maybe the exact type of system that he can thrive in.
Can Nazem play 1C here in Toronto?
