A few interesting players to watch during these two scrimmage games (Friday/Sunday for the Leafs). First off, its great to see Carl Grundstrom attending, and auditioning for a spot on the big club. Most likely he will be back in Sweden this fall but he brings exactly what the Leafs forward group could use more of.
Secondly, Liljegren and Dermott on the back end. Let us see where they are both at in their development and after another summer of training. Dermott SHOULD stand out in a tournament like this, but quietly effective is often used to describe his play. Liljegren, the Leafs 1st round pick this year, has a chance to really shine in this group. It will be tempting for the young swede to try and do too much to impress the management team but he also must learn to keep the game simple.
Additionally, players like Keaton Middleton, Andrew Nielsen, Mason Marchment and Eemeli Rasanen will hopefully get great exposure at this tournament.
Notable invite is Nikita Korostelev, who was not offered a contract by the Leafs organization but could raise some eyebrows in September.
More details as they become available, and as per usual our own @skatelacebite will be in attendance for the two Leafs games.
