Early on Tuesday morning, it was announced that Toronto Maple Leafs have reassigned Frederik Gauthier to the Toronto Marlies and that Kasperi Kapanen would once again join the big club.

Gauthier, called up a few games ago, struggled in a big way last night as the 4th line center (playing with Matt Martin and Mitch Marner).
Known as the Goat, the 22 year old former first round pick has 5 pts in his 37 games in the NHL and is a less than impressive -7 over that span in reduced minutes.
Kasperi Kapanen has done everything asked of him by the organization and Head Coach Sheldon Keefe while with the Marlies.
The 21 year old native of Finland, has 22 points in 27 games in the AHL this season. Generally regarded as the fastest player in the Organization, the Leafs will hope to infuse even more speed into the lower portion of this NHL lineup.
It would be great to see Kapanen given increased minutes as the situations would allow, but we shall see how and when Coach Babcock uses the talented winger.
Kapanen steps up in big situations, and in my opinion should never see the AHL again in his career.
