The 25 year old rookie has appeared in all of Torontos 39 games this season, and has produced 8 goals and 23 points along the way.
The team will miss more than his offense though, as the 6’3″, 195lb forward has been able to use his size and speed effectively in all situations, and has been a terrific addition to the penalty kill, where he has played nearly 2 minutes a night for the club.
Ilya Mikheyev of the Toronto Maple Leafs has had a successful surgery to repair an artery and tendons in his wrist. He is expected to make a full recovery but a more accurate timeline for his return will be provided in 90 days.
