Most saw this one coming, but the exact time frame was unknown. Elliotte Friedman kicked things off earlier this afternoon and by 3:30 EST the trade had been confirmed by the Maple Leafs.
Peter Holland has been traded to Arizona.
Think Peter Holland is going to ARIZ for a conditional draft pick

With the Leafs confirming what most of the hockey world had known for a few hours (crappy timing when a trade goes down mid-flight to Boston), the Peter Holland era in Toronto was officially over.
What does this mean? Not a heck of a lot.
Holland will bring back a 6th round pick and give the Leafs an additional contract under the 50 maximum allowed by the NHL Collective Agreement.
On a more positive note, it will give the Leafs a chance to activate Josh Leivo from the rehabilitation from injury designation he has been on for a LONG time.
Leivo practiced with the Leafs today (before the trip) on the 2nd Unit Powerplay with Kadri, Matthews, Nylander, and Gardiner.
Will be interesting to see if the Leafs make another trade before the Christmas break or stand pat with the players they have assembled thus far.
Updates as they come to fruition.
