Jake Gardiner will face the Toronto Maple Leafs for the first time in his career tonight.
I know many in Leafs Nation miss the polarizing rearguard, but you can’t count me among them, so I’m not even going to bother to speak about it.
James Reimer will start for the ‘Canes. He’s been great lately, so the Leafs, who are winners of 4 straight and 6 of their last 7, will have to bring their A game if they want to advance that streak to 5.
On the Leafs end there shouldn’t be much in terms of lineup changes. Trevor Moore is out and the team has recalled Jeremy Bracco from the minors.
#Leafs have recalled Jeremy Bracco from the AHL. Trevor Moore is unavailable today reasons that will be updated post-game. Likely related to whatever he was feeling after that bump in practice a week ago.

His recall is likely a reward for his work in the AHL though. I would expect that Jason Spezza, not Bracco, will take the place of Trevor Moore.
Also, Michael Hutchinson, who started and won(!!) their last game against the Detroit Red Wings, will likely sit in place of Frederik Andersen.

**I realize these are just silly, generic stats that I post each game, without context, and they’re meant as nothing more than a snap shot of what a team has accomplished so far in the season. However, I believe the Hurricanes are the first team to feature in the top 10 in every category. I’m impressed.
